Welcome To TamCalc.!

TamCalc. is a lighting layout program that allows you to do simple lighting layouts quickly and easily. Calculations are based on the Zonal Cavity method. The Zonal Cavity method, sometimes referred to as the Lumen Method, calculates the average maintained horizontal illuminance on a work plane. TamCalc. can perform two functions. It can either determine the number of fixtures you need, given a desired average illuminance OR determine the average illuminance, given a set number of fixtures. The process is simple:

  • Choose the Tamlite fixture that best meets your application needs
  • Define the critical parameters, as you are prompted

The program does the rest !

This Lighting Layout Calculator is offered by Tamlite/Deluce Lighting as a free of charge service. It is designed to provide you, the customer, assistance in preparing your quote, design layout, and submittals for any given project or job. Please note, not all fixtures of similar design have the same final output and photometric as substitutes provided. Substituting any Tamlite/Deluce fixture will null and void any services provided.
There is a high probability that relevant actual site conditions will ultimately differ from those made known to Tamlite/Deluce Lighting at the design stage. It is the responsibility of the client to check and ensure that the design fulfills all of the general (and their own particular) requirements before final acceptance and adoption of such proposals is carried out.

Lighting Design – Standard Design Guidelines

Please note that any lighting design carried out by Tamlite/Deluce Lighting will assume the following, unless information is provided in advance and in writing advising to the contrary:

  • The area will be lit in accordance with the customer's requirement, using a fixture arrangement which considers both the purpose (which will meet the requirements described in this document and any amendment made in writing by the client) and any commercial considerations.
  • The room reflectance will be assumed to be in accordance with industry standard (Ceiling 80% - Walls 50% - Floors 20%).
  • The ambient temperature range at its most extreme will be assumed to be between 68°F and 86°F – unless noted.
  • The site voltage range at its most extreme will be assumed to be between 120V and 277V with a frequency of 60Hz.
  • Where the fixture is supplied with lamps, these will be what are deemed, by Tamlite/Deluce Lighting as standard issue lamps for the products. All photometric data will be based on mean lamp lumen output where applicable.
  • It will be assumed that the overall and ongoing maintenance level of the project application and installation is good, and the illuminated area is clean unless notified otherwise.
  • It is also important to note that some photometric data used may be simulated.
  • All lighting layouts will be submitted to the customer in a PDF format for review; CAD files are available on request after the order has been placed with Tamlite/Deluce Lighting.
  • Errors and omissions excluded.
